Born on November 17, 1981, in Honduras, Rocsi went by Raquel
Roxanne Diaz. Her family has Chilean and Honduran roots, and they moved to New
Orleans when she was young. She went to West Jefferson High School, cheered
everybody on, and later she got a degree from Nicholls State University.
Her Career
Diaz kicked off her career hosting at Dallas radio station
97.9 The Beat. She got some attention from Hot 97.7 in Boston and worked there
as a DJ. In 2004, she moved to Chicago and started DJing at Power 92 WPWX-FM,
where they called her The Midday Mami. Before all that, in 2000, Rocsi was on
MTV's reality show Fear. In 2006, she co-hosted BET's music video show 106
& Park with Terrence J, sticking around until 2012. Diaz showed up as a
BET News person in the Def Jam: Icon video game (2007) and made her movie debut
in Gang of Roses II: Next Generation (2012).
She joined Entertainment Tonight in 2013 as a reporter and
weekend co-host. The show actually won an Emmy the next year. Rocsi was out in
September 2014 because Entertainment Tonight hired Nischelle Turner from CNN.
In 2015, Diaz became a Los Angeles person for HLN's The Daily Share. That
August, she went back to New Orleans with HLN to remember the 10th anniversary
of Hurricane Katrina. She checked out the street she grew up on and showed that
there weren't any homes there anymore.
Rocsi hosted the third season of VH1's Dating Naked in 2016,
and in 2020, she talked about what was happening on the USA Network game show

Her Personal Life
Rocsi started eating vegetarian in college and even did a
PETA ad promoting it. During an Entertainment Tonight interview in 2013 with a
teenager recovering from anorexia, Diaz admitted, I didn't eat when I was in
high school. As a cheerleader, I was trying to get skinnier. She also said, I
was trying to look at all the magazines, and how to get skinnier. Like Paris
Hilton and I saw how skinny they were.
Diaz started RocStar Foundation, a non-profit. She told NBC
News, RocStar Foundation helps rebuild schools basically ruined by natural
disasters. It started with Hurricane Katrina and New Orleans, because the storm
did damage in the public school system.

In 2014, Diaz won an Emmy for Entertainment Tonight. In
2013, the National Council of La Raza honored her with the Ruben Salazar Award
for Communications.
