Elon Musk has a big family – 14 kids with four different women. That includes three with the singer Grimes. He's been having kids for over 20 years. His first child was with his ex-wife, Justine Wilson, a Canadian writer. Their son, Nevada Alexander, was born in 2002 but sadly passed away at just 10 weeks old. They later had twins, Vivian and Griffin, and then triplets, Kai, Saxon, and Damian.
After splitting with Wilson in 2008, Musk
married and divorced actress Talulah Riley twice, but they didn't have any
kids. In 2020, he and Grimes announced the birth of their first child, X Æ
A-12.
They have two more kids together: a girl named
Exa Dark Sideræl and a boy, Techno Mechanicus. Before their second child
arrived, Musk also had twins, Strider and Azure, with Shivon Zilis, an exec at
his company Neuralink, back in November 2021. This info came out in court
documents.
Then, in February 2024, he and Zilis welcomed a
daughter, Arcadia. Later that year, someone told PEOPLE magazine that Musk and
Grimes were looking for a house in Bel Air where all his kids and their moms
could live.
In February 2025, Ashley St. Clair said that
she and Musk had a child named Romulus. Zilis then said she and Musk secretly
had another baby, a son named Seldon Lycurgus, but it's not clear when.
In May, St. Clair mentioned to The New York Times that
Musk said he also had a child with a Japanese pop star, but that hasn't been
confirmed.
So, to recap, Musk's 14 kids are: Nevada,
Vivian, Griffin, Kai, Saxon, Damian, X Æ A-12, Exa, Strider, Azure, Techno,
Arcadia, Seldon Lycurgus, and Romulus.
Nevada Alexander
Musk's first child, Nevada Alexander, was with
Justine Wilson in 2002. Sadly, he died of SIDS at 10 weeks old. Wilson wrote
about it in an essay, saying Nevada stopped breathing during a nap. By the time
the paramedics resuscitated him, he had been without oxygen for so long.. She
held him as life support was removed at the hospital.

Wilson wrote about having more children after
Nevada's death. She and Musk wanted to get pregnant again fast, visiting an IVF
clinic ,and later had twins and then triplets.
In April 2022, one of Musk's twins, Vivian, asked
the court to change her name to Vivian Jenna Wilson (her mother's maiden name)
and to recognize her as female. She said she didn't want to be related to my
biological father in any way. The court granted her request in June.
Musk told the Financial Times in October 2022
that he thinks Vivian doesn't want to be associated with him because of the
communist takeover in schools.
In July 2024, after Musk
claimed he was manipulated into allowing Vivian to get gender-affirming
treatments and said my son is dead, Vivian responded.
She said the story was made up and that Musk
wasn't around much when she was a kid. She accuses him of harassment. He was
there, I want to say, maybe 10% of the time. That's generous. He had half
custody, and he fully was not there.
Grimes supported Vivian
In August 2024, Vivian made more comments about
her father, calling him pathetic. Griffin usually stays out of the spotlight
but was at an event with his dad in Miami in May 2024. Musk posted a photo of
them on X.
Vivian said she doesn't consider all of Musk's
children her siblings in an interview with Teen Vogue. I actually don't know
how many siblings I have if you count half-siblings. Fun fact, right? she said.
It's perfect for two truths and a lie. I found out about the Shivon Zilis thing
when everyone else did.
In a March 2025 interview with Hasan Piker on
YouTube, Vivian mentioned that her change wasn't some sad thing that made her
dad lean politically the way he does.
[Elon Musk] wasn't ever a left-wing guy. Trust
me, I know him; he was never on the left. It was just for show, she said.
Kai, Saxon, and Damian
Wilson had triplet boys named Kai, Saxon, and
Damian in 2006, two years after having twins. She mentioned in a 2017 Ted Talk
that they were also conceived using IVF, but she and Musk haven't talked about the
kids publicly.
In a 2023 book about the tech guy, called Elon
Musk, Walter Isaacson wrote that Damian went vegetarian at age 8 to cut down on
my carbon footprint.
Isaacson also said Damian is a super talented
classical music kid who's great at math and science. Musk's
mom, Maye, even told her son once, I think Damian is smarter than you.
X Æ A-12

Grimes and Musk had their first kid on May 4,
2020, after the singer posted a picture of her baby bump back in January 2020.
Their son, X Æ A-12, later changed to X Æ A-Xii, was partly named after the
CIA's Lockheed A-12 spy plane.
They call him X, and Grimes broke down how to
say his name in her Instagram comments. It's just X, like the letter X, she
wrote. Then A.I., she added. Like how you say the letter A then I.
But Musk said it differently on The Joe Rogan
Experience podcast, saying X is like the letter, while the 'Æ' is like 'ash.'
He was very happy to say that A-12 was idea,
but Grimes mostly came up with the name. She even gave a full explanation of
what it meant on her X account.

The kid made news when he joined his dad for a
serious meeting at X when he was 2.
According to The Washington Post, Musk brought
X Æ A-Xii to the X offices while meeting with Trust and Safety Office's Yoel
Roth in October 2022. The kid was apparently running around while Musk talked
about what was next for the company. X Æ A-Xii also got comfy in the conference
room, which the newspaper said was full of toys.
In April 2023, X Æ A-Xii went with his dad to
the MMA Global Possible Conference in Miami. People thought it was cute when
the little boy was seen playing with Musk on stage.
Four months later, Grimes talked about how much
her son loves spaceships. X knows a lot about rockets. It's wild, she said. He
knows more about rockets than I do. She even said she was worried about his
obsession with space after SpaceX's Starship rocket blew up after taking off in
April.
When X saw Starship explode, he had, like, a
three-day freak out, the mom of two said. Every hour, he was waking up and
going, 'Starship ...' and I had to rub his back.
In February 2025, X Æ A-Xii went with his dad
to the Oval Office to see President Donald Trump sign something to give the
Department of Government Efficiency more power.
Grimes responded on X, saying she didn't know
her son was there and only found out from someone on the platform.He shouldn't
be in public like this, the singer wrote. I didn't see this, thank u for
alerting me. But I'm glad he was polite. Sigh.
After Musk showed up for a press conference in
the Oval Office with a black eye in May 2025, he told a reporter he got it
while playing around with X Æ A-Xii. I was walking around with Little X and I
was like, 'Go ahead and punch me in the face,' and he did, he said. I didn't
really feel much at the time but I guess it bruised up.
Strider and Azure

and a daughter named Azure, with Shivon Zilis in November 2021, according to
court papers shared by Insider. The twins were born in Austin, Texas—just weeks
before he and Grimes had a baby girl through a surrogate.
The papers show that in April 2022, Musk and
Zilis asked a court in Texas to change their babies' names, so they would have
their dad's last name and include their mom's last name as part of their middle
name. The parents shared the babies' names and genders in September 2023, when
they were 16 months old.
Exa Dark Sideræl

revealed a year later in a Vanity Fair interview that she had a baby girl via
surrogate in December 2021, three months after she and Musk broke up (at least
publicly). She named her Exa Dark Sideræl, and the singer-songwriter said the
name has a double meaning.
Exa is a computer term, exaFLOPS, while Dark
means the unknown. She told the magazine, People are scared of it, but it's
really just the absence of photons. Dark matter is the cool mystery of our
universe.
According to Vanity Fair, Grimes pronounces the third part
of her child Y's full name, Sideræl, as sigh-deer-ee-el. Grimes said it's like
an elven way to spell sidereal, which means the real time of the cosmos, star
time, deep space time, not our earth time.
Sideræl also references Grimes' favorite Lord of the Rings
character, Galadriel, who chooses to give up the ring. Back in March 2023,
Grimes posted a rare photo of her daughter on Twitter and said she's going by a
new name now.
We usually don't post her to keep her private, but she's
hard to recognize here since she looks like Goku, she wrote, referring to the
Dragon Ball character. The photo showed Musk's youngest in a red outfit with
blonde, spiky hair. Grimes also said, She's Y now, or Why? or just ? (but the
government won't allow that). curiosity, the never ending question, and stuff.
In August 2023, Grimes said her younger child is a little engineer who likes industrial shipping. She's very strange. Isaacson's biography about Musk mentioned that he and Grimes had a third child together. They secretly had another son, Techno Mechanicus, also called “Tau, in June 2022.
“Tau is amazing. He was born with eyes that see right into
your soul, like he knows everything. He looks like a baby Spock. He's
definitely a Vulcan,” Grimes told Isaacson. After the book came out, Grimes
wrote on X that she was keeping details about her youngest child private.
I wish I could show you how cute little Techno is, but
right now I need to keep my kids out of the spotlight, she wrote. Please
respect that. In June 2024, Musk confirmed that he and Zilis had a third child,
Arcadia, born on Feb. 28, 2024.
Mommy loves you with all her heart, Zilis wrote on X for
Arcadia's first birthday in February 2025. Zilis announced on X in February
2025 that she and Musk had a fourth child, a son named Seldon Lycurgus. She
didn't say when he was born.
After talking about it with Elon, we thought it was best to
share directly about our wonderful son, Seldon Lycurgus. He's strong and has a
good heart. I love him so much, she wrote.
In February 2025, St. Clair announced on X that she and
Musk had a child together in September 2024.
I had a baby five months ago. Elon Musk is the father. I
didn't say anything before to protect our child's privacy and safety, but it's
clear that the tabloids are going to report this anyway, even if it hurts our
child, she wrote. I want our child to grow up in a normal and safe place, St.
Clair added. So, I'm asking the media to respect our child's privacy and not be
intrusive.
It's not clear if St. Clair's child was born before or
after Musk and Zilis had their fourth baby. The next month, Musk said on X that
he hadn't confirmed paternity yet but had given Ashley $2.5M and am sending her
$500k/year. A few hours later, St. Clair responded, saying Musk was taking away
his support for their son to control me and punish me for not obeying.
In April 2025, the Wall Street Journal reported that St. Clair and Musk's child is named Romulus, and a report from Labcorp showed that Musk's Probability of Paternity was 99.9999%. A spokesperson for St. Clair told PEOPLE that the paternity test results were correct and that the child's name is Romulus.
When Trump and Musk started arguing publicly in June 2025,
St. Clair joked about her own fight with the Tesla CEO on X. Hey @realDonaldTrump,
