Early life and education

Margaret Constance Williams was born on 15 April 1997 in Bristol, England to Gary Williams and Hilary Frances (née Pitt), a university course administrator who later gave up her career to support her actress daughter. Williams' parents separated when she was four months old. The youngest of four siblings-James, Beth, and Ted-Williams was brought up by her mother and stepfather in a three-bedroom council house in the village of Clutton, Somerset. Williams was always nicknamed "Maisie" from an early age. supposedly for her resemblance to the cartoon character in the UK newspaper comic strip The Perishers.

Williams went to Clutton Primary School and Norton Hill School in Midsomer Norton. Maisie joined Sue Hill Dance in Radstock and became a very active dancer taking part in many events. She later transferred to BDC Bath Dance College in Radstock to study performing arts where she trained in musical theatre, ballet, pointe, tap, street, freestyle, gymnastics, and trampolining, with the ambition of becoming a professional dancer. Maisie dropped out of school at the age of 14, because of her successful start to her acting career. She was then educated by her mother at home, but did not sit any GCSEs.

Margaret Constance "Maisie" Williams (born April 15, 1997) is an English actress. From 2011, she started acting as a lead character Arya Stark in HBO's epic medieval fantasy television series Game of Thrones (2011-2019). She gained fame and critical acclaim for her performance in the series, along with two Emmy Award nominations. Other television appearances include Ashildr in the BBC science fiction series Doctor Who (2015), starring in British docudrama television film Cyberbully (2015), and in British sci-fi teen thriller film iBoy (2017). She starred in the action comedy-drama miniseries Two Weeks to Live (2020) and portrayed Jordan, a punk rock icon, in Pistol (2022), a biopic of the Sex Pistols. Williams also voiced Cammie MacCloud in the American animated web series Gen:Lock (2019-2021).

In 2014, she acted as Lydia in her first feature film-the coming-of-age mystery drama The Falling-which received critical acclaim and awards. She acted in a few films, namely, the romantic period-drama film Mary Shelley (2017), the animated prehistorical sports comedy film Early Man (2018), and the romantic comedy-drama film Then Came You (2018). In 2018, she debuted in the theatre as the audience who would see the production of Lauren Gunderson's play I and You, done at the Hampstead Theatre in London, with success. In the year 2020, she appeared in the superhero horror film The New Mutants and also starred in the psychological thriller The Owners.

In 2019, Williams jointly developed and launched the Daisie social media application, a multimedia networking platform that would enable artists and creators, especially the struggling ones, to start their careers using alternative means.

Brand Endorsements

Maisie Williams has added quite a bit to her cash flow via brand endorsements through the years. She featured in a commercials for Audi during the 2020 Super Bowl. That same year, she was featured in an advert for Apple's Macbook line. To cap off a great 2020, Maisie was also named a new brand ambassador for Cartier.

In 2021, she was bestowed with the title of global ambassador for sustainability towards the H&M Company. Unfortunately, this was quite negative as Williams faced backlash against H&M's failure to match words with actions globally regarding sustainability. Some even went as far as accusing H&M and Williams of "greenwashing."

Entrepreneurship

Williams initiated her own production company in 2016 called "Daisy Chain Productions". This production company concentrates on UK-based short films, feature films, and drama series. In 2018, Williams also had her own social media app called Daisie, meant for artists to get started in their careers through connecting to projects and showcasing their works. In 2019, she raised $2.5 million as startup capital for Daisie. By 2019, about 100,000 users opened accounts with Daisie.
