Bristol, England to Gary Williams and Hilary Frances (née Pitt), a university
course administrator who later gave up her career to support her actress

trampolining, with the ambition of becoming a professional dancer. Maisie
dropped out of school at the age of 14, because of her successful start to her
acting career. She was then educated by her mother at home, but did not sit any
GCSEs.
